My Journey to B.R.I.D.G.E. K9
I didn't set out to create B.R.I.D.G.E. K9. I was a Licensed Professional Counselor who understood nervous system regulation—for humans. But my Australian Cattle Dog, Luna, taught me something I'd missed: when I was dysregulated, she couldn't settle. When I was anxious, she was anxious.
She wasn't broken. She was responding to me.
That's when I realized my two passions—mental health and animal welfare—were never separate. You can't heal your dog's anxiety without addressing your own nervous system. B.R.I.D.G.E. K9 was born from that truth.
Beyond Dominance: What Guiding Your Dog Really Means
Your dog doesn't need you to be an alpha. They need you to be their guide—someone who provides safety, clarity, and partnership rather than dominance. At B.R.I.D.G.E. K9, we believe in leadership through direction, not force.
Your Dog Knows Before You Do
Have you noticed your dog move closer on a hard day or get restless when you’re anxious? That’s co-regulation: dogs sense your nervous system—your posture, breathing, even scent—often before you do. If you’re chronically dysregulated, your dog likely is too. This isn’t about blame; it’s about recognizing the system you share. When you learn to regulate, your dog can relax too. That’s why B.R.I.D.G.E. K9 works with both ends of the leash.
